Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning to it, beginning with a new therapist can feel overwhelming. We’re here to make this process easier for you by helping you find the right therapist who can meet your unique needs, whether for yourself or your child.
Your journey with an AMK therapist begins with a brief phone consultation, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your reasons for seeking therapy and discuss your goals. From there, we’ll schedule an initial appointment. During this session, we’ll explore your therapy goals, whether broad or specific, to ensure we tailor the approach to your needs. For parents of young children, the first session will focus on gathering information during a parent consultation before meeting with your child.
Our therapists will also address any questions you have about the frequency of sessions, therapeutic goals, and the overall scope of our work together. We understand that the therapeutic relationship is crucial, and after your initial session, you’ll have the opportunity to decide if the therapist and their approach feel like the right fit for you or your child.

When working with individuals and families, one of my primary goals is to foster an

Nearly five years into clinical work I continue to grow and become more passionate about the work I

Nearly five years into clinical work I continue to grow and become more passionate about the work I
