Sherene Al-Turk, EdS, LCPC Clinical Supervisor
One of my favorite reminders is that progress is not linear. The therapeutic process does not require definitive structure to enable growth. Whether you are currently going through a difficult time or have decided you want to make some changes but aren’t sure where to begin, we will work together to find answers at a pace that feels right and comfortable to you. My goal is to help you understand your stressors, increase your self-awareness, enhance your coping skills, and recognize your own strengths.
I am consistently humbled by the resilience and strength of the clients that I work with. I whole-heartedly believe anyone who takes the leap into trying therapy can inherently challenge themselves to overcome barriers by working to fully encompass their most authentic selves. I bring direct but compassionate feedback utilizing both humor and authenticity to my sessions. I will provide you with evidence-based resources, tools, and education that help fight the stigma that is attached to mental health struggles and support you on your journey towards personal empowerment and self-acceptance. My clinical areas of strength include trauma/childhood trauma, self-esteem and interpersonal difficulties, depression, suicidality, anxiety, mood disorders, issues surrounding anger management, aggression and impulse control, and life transitions.
